The Roxstone Music Quest

BIO:
Roxstone Music is on a quest to find new talent to add to its roster. Founded in 2008, they have had their music and songs featured in major Hollywood motion pictures, TV and radio. Roxstone Music aims firstly to recognise great music and ability. Too much talent goes un-noticed and they want to enhance the potential that you as an artist or writer have.

MISSION:
It is our mission to discover a gifted up and coming singer-songwriter/group to collaborate with, developing them musically and artistically. The aim here is to get a record deal in place using all of Roxstone’s resources. At this time, the sound we are searching for will fall within the singer/songwriter category.

If you can answer yes to any of the questions below, we want to meet you!

1 - Are you driven, determined and prepared to take your career seriously?

2 - Do you play a musical instrument?

3 - Are you flexible and available for writing and recording sessions?

Prior to meeting you, here’s what we need from you to get the ball rolling:

- A demo of your voice/voices

- A biography including any gigs or musical ventures you may have undertaken

- A recent picture or yourself/yourselves

- Links to any online media sites

- Links to any online musical performances

- As much information on yourself/yourselves as possible (if any)

Hello All,

I've been asked by quite a few people, whereabouts our song, "Ready To Try" features in Love & Other Drugs - the movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway. I thought I'd write a quick post to tell you all so you can keep an eye out for it!

"Ready to Try" features over the Pyjama Party! The house party scene opens with a view of the house, it's at that point that our song starts to play. Yay!

It's been a while...

Hi Everyone,

Gosh, it's been a while since I last wrote... I'm so sorry, so much has been going on that I haven't gotten around to filling you all in. So, let me start.

As you all know, I am part of Roxstone Music and we're really excited with the projects that have been coming our way... To keep up to date with current news and projects, 'like' us on facebook. Recent accolades include: music featured in the movie SALT starring Angelina Jolie and The Last Airbender. Songs that feature in movies Inhale and Love and Other Drugs. Music for commercial work for Tapout, Reality TV show Fashion Show Season 2 and most recently we have begun working on The Green Hornet starring Cameron Diaz, Seth Rogan and Edward Furlong. With the film stuff aside we've also been working with some great new artists - who will soon be announced - on their albums and they will be releasing their material into the world very soon. We are so excited to hear what you all think about it.

I have also been writing for artist Lexy Panterra and one of the songs I co-wrote with RedEye Production, "Taking Over" is now available on iTunes and there are more in the pipeline due to be released.

In other writing business, I am excited to announce the release of my new novel, Tiramisu... it is being published in bite sized morsels online where I will be posting a chapter a week for your reading pleasure! Please check it out and let me know what you think of it...

I've also recently launched a crochet collection called EllaRose Handmade... Crocheting is something that has always been in my family and it wasn't until not that long ago I decided to try my hand at it again, Mama tried to teach me and my sisters when we were young but we never really took to it at the time... I felt like I needed something creative to do in between song writing and novel-ing! So, after much work and preparation we launched EllaRose Handmade into the world... here she is... I'm super excited to announce that my short story "The Deadline" from The Chronicles of Cesca DeVita will feature in the 4th Issue of FaceON Magazine. It is due to be printed in the next coming days but I've seen the proof and it looks amazing. Such a fashion forward and stylish magazine... I can't wait for you all to read it... Other business: As you all know, I've been working alongside various artists, writers and producers recently and things are going very well. I am currently waiting to hear word back on a couple of possible placements for some amazing songs we've written together... I can't wait for the world to hear what we've been doing! "Love and Other Drugs"... and other stuff!

Hi Everyone,

Sorry it's been a while since I written my blog... Things have been really hectic :) Here's what's been going on.

Firstly, I'm so excited to announce that I have another song appearing in a movie, coming out this year. Ed Zwick the Director himself approved "Ready To Try" for his current movie "Love and Other Drugs" starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway. Super excited for its release.

As in my previous post a while back, I continue to work with Tiger Lilly on her EP, entitled "Too Little, Too Late", which is to be released September 2010. She has some exciting things ahead, the release of her new music video for her song "Affair", which features on her album "Reflections" (available now from her website) alongside the 2011 calendar she's been busily shooting to raise money and awareness for www.youthmusic.org.uk. The launch will be held at The Landmark Hotel in London on the 28th August 2010, tickets will be on sale from 1st June and are £10. Click here for more information. Be sure to attend, it's going to be a fab night.

I have also been co-writing with pop artists, Nayri on her project and also Kelli Love on her album, who has recently had her song, "Find Jah Way" feature on an episode of CSI Miami. Her album is shaping up nicely, it's wonderful to be surrounded by talented musicians.

In other writing news - I have been editing some short stories for submission to another magazine. Also I have been beavering away, working on restructuring a novel of mine that I feel has great potential, the storyline has changed somewhat and I am super happy with it's direction. I'll be able to let you know more as its development continues. I'm still on the search for a new publisher for my latest novel Tiramisu and am hoping that a wonderful opportunity arises soon :) Keep your fingers and toes crossed for me friends x

Hi Everyone,

I'm here to update the masses! So, what have I been up to I hear you ask? (or am I going mad?!)

Well... I'll tell ya... I've been happily working with some fantastic producers on some wonderful new music projects. Most recently I've been collaborating with Kelli Love once again, this is our third time working together and I'm super excited about our latest project. We have just completed our recent song "I Am Free", which Kelli Love will feature on her forthcoming album. She will be gigging very shortly so watch this space for dates and venues in the near future.

Also, I'm happy to say that I'm about to start working with Tiger Lilly, a UK unsigned artist, reaching the UK Unsigned Charts at No.2 with "Chasing Ghosts" her debut single and her second single "New Life" reached No.1. She's currently promoting her album "Reflections", gigging all over the UK, not to mention all the charity work and radio appearances she's doing along with features in various press releases and music publications. This girl is doing a fab job and I am delighted to be working together on her forthcoming album. Please check her out on Facebook. She's fab!

Hopefully you've also read the post below about one of my songs featuring in the up and coming movie "Inhale", which is also very exciting and there are some other wonderful things in the pipeline that I am currently not at liberty to say, but they are AMAZING opportunities... I shall keep you all posted the moment I'm able to. I am simultaneously pitching my new novel to new Publishers and Agents... if anyone has any recommendations please let me know x

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all well. I wanted to post some amazing news to you all... My song "Unfailing" will feature in the up and coming movie "Inhale" starring Dermot Mulroney, Diane Kruger & Rosanna Arquette soon to be released this year (date TBC) Yay!

I'm super excited and it's been all hush-hush up until now really. Ya never know, could be the start of something *wink*!

"Unfailing" plays for about 20 seconds during the movie and it was just so surreal to watch! I'm here, on the edge of my seat waiting for it to hit the screens. What an amazing opportunity. I hope you all manage to check it out when it comes out.

I hope you are all well. I have recently finished edits and proofreading my new novel, Tiramisú. I wanted to post its short Synopsis on here so you could all tell me what you think? I hope you enjoy it...

Ex-Sales Executive, Rosella Giordano never thought much about what it would be like without her husband, Filippo. Even though she’d spent the best part of the last few years growing to despise him - or so she thought. One ordinary Saturday proved her wrong. Filippo left for work that morning and never returned home.

After frantic attempts to find him left her fruitless, Rosella had to accept the fact that he had disappeared without a trace. She dangled on the fringes of a breakdown and was swimming in the debt Filippo had left behind. Wading through this tragedy of her life had her like a duck out of water. With crippling dues, Rosella had no choice but to return to work at Candy Beauty & Cosmetics as an attempt to salvage the life she had left.

Taking refuge back at her family home in North London, she sunk her feet firmly into her roots this time. She rediscovered love, in particular, she rediscovered Nico, a childhood crush from her summer holidays in her parent’s village in Italy and things began to make headway in her life. Until she stumbled on the truth, the truth that almost sent her spiraling right back to the beginning.

An Update Mate.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry it's been so long since I wrote. HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all! I hope you had a fab Christmas and that you celebrated the new year in in style.

I've been quite busy with various projects going on and also have some fab news in the pipeline...

Since I last wrote, I've written more songs for Boom Kitty, who are in the process of recording these at Red Eye Ent. Studios. They are a great bunch of talented girls and I'm really proud and grateful to be working with them. I know they are going to go really far. They have been performing lots, shows every week, sometimes more than one a week and I hear they are getting fantastic feedback. The latest song I wrote for them is a dance track, which they will be hitting all the clubs with very shortly. I will be there, waving my arms in the air like a nutter most likely! If you've not heard of them, you really must check them out on Facebook and follow them on Twitter.

I'm also really happy to announce that I've completed my third novel. I'm am about to start reviewing it and making my first edits. I'm very excited about it. I still haven't come up with a name yet but I'm thinking hard about it! I'll post it's synopsis on here soon and you can tell me what you think... perhaps you can help me think of a name!

As some of you may know, I've also been working with 2012 Productions on various songs that we are hoping to pitch to some great artists. I'm hoping to update my myspace page soon so you can hear some of my latests songs. I'll let you know when I do.

Finally, just before Christmas I heard some great news; a song I wrote a while back is due to feature in a new film that is coming out... It's roughly a twenty second snippet of it and it's even me singing!! WAHHHHHH! I watched the piece a few days back and it was really strange to hear/see it! I don't want to give away too much just yet, but please watch this space for updates on this, it's all so exciting!

Boom Kitty Rocked!

Last night, the highly anticipated Boom Kitty performed at The Conga Room in downtown Los Angeles.

The Conga Room hosts record launches, parties, film screenings and award shows to name a few. Legends such as Celia Cruz & Tito Puente have featured concerts there and huge performers such as Shakira and Santana have graced their stage.

The Conga room is co-owned by Jimmy Smits, Jennifer Lopez, Paul Rodriguez, Sheila E., Amaury Nolasco, Baron Davis, Trevor Ariza, and will.i.am. It boasts three bumping rooms and a restaurant, Boca.

Boom Kitty had the privilege of performing on the same stage as so many talented performers and they totally rocked! I waited on the sidelines with others, agog. Couldn't wait to see them perform. Only months, weeks earlier I was sat at my small studio set up at home, writing and recording these very songs. Finally they entered, stage left and I was so excited to see them, couldn't wipe the smile off my face. They began and the crowd screamed. They started with "Watchin' Me" and moved on to "Love Me Boy"... It was a sort of surreal experience, always is when I hear someone else singing/performing my songs.... then finished with their single, "Playground" and the crowd cheered again.

Their routine was tight, their stage presence was fantastic. I felt proud and super pleased for them, they are going to be huge! It has been an absolute pleasure working with RedEye Productions and Boom Kitty and I'm looking forward to watching them perform again soon.

Things have been going marvelously for me recently.

I've had some wonderful feedback on Spaghetti Straps, my latest novel to be released, which I'm extremely happy about. Yay!

Been working with various producers on new music as well as RedEye Productions on up and coming girl group Boom Kitty. They've had a lot of interest and I'm super excited to announce that they have yet another show coming up on the 16th of this month, they will be performing some of the material I co-wrote for them and I can't wait to see them perform it. Super excited. It's going to be a great show. I will be taking pics and will be posting them on my Facebook FanPage, you can find links to that in my side bar and also on my website.

I've also been working on my latest novel (name to be announced at a later date) I've had some great help and advice from Kate Lace, Author of The Chalet Girl, The Movie Girl, The Trophy Girl and her newest release The Love Boat - You really must check her out, she is a fab writer and my pal, I just know you'll love her wonderful novels :) You'll find more info on her here

PRICE ERROR IN UK!

Hi,

My new novel Spaghetti Straps is now available on online book stores and can be ordered through your local book stores. Unfortunately, I have spent the last few weeks trying to solve the issue of my novel being up for sale on ALL UK ONLINE BOOKSTORES at an incorrect price.

There has been some sort of mix up and the novel has been priced at the US Dollar price instead of Sterling Pounds (even though it's showing a pound sign, the price 27.95 is the price in Dollars). This is currently being rectified and is in the hands of my Publishers. Apologies for any inconvenience and I hope that you will keep an eye out for the price change and also check this blog as I will be posting when the correction is made.

What I've Been Up To...

Hello everyone,

It's been around a month since I last wrote... So, what have you been up to? I hear you ask...

Well...

I went back home for a short while, loved it! Hosted a surprise birthday party for my husband, visited the family, done some recording and received a thumbs up for my piece that will be featuring in the booklet at Bedfords Italian Festival. Check the flyer for details of this event. It will be an event not to be missed, except of course I'm totally devastated that I am now back in LA and am not able to attend *sobbing*. Seriously, if you're nearby, GO! It's going to be fantastic, with mouth watering food, lots of lively festivities and traditional entertainment, plus you'll be able to read my story in the booklet they'll be handing out :) Yay!

So what else... just before I left, I had word that some of my work will be appearing in a publication, I don't want to give away too much information until things have been signed etc but I will keep you posted on its progress. It's all very exciting, watch this space.

I've recently done some work with an up and coming producer, b-MaC with 2015 Productions. We've collaborated on various songs so far and I'm happy to say I'm pleased with the outcome. I've received great feedback from people on the material and am eager to shop these to a new artist or publishing house.

My soon to be released novel, Spaghetti Straps is underway in the Cover Design Department... I'm currently awaiting approval on my cover design submission so will keep you posted on that. Can't wait to see it in print!

Hi Everyone,

Been working with some great producers lately... Keeping super busy, three songs on the go at once! Throat sore from too much singing! I'm sure my ears are getting bigger from all the listening I'm doing! Hello? Sorry thought I heard something!

I've just recently updated my music myspace page... Check it out, I've posted a few new songs on there. "Sidelines" is one of my most recent ones. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

On my other writing front - I've been working on and developing a character and could have some possible interest in having some of the short stories published so I'll keep you posted on that too.

What a great day... First of all I receive an email from Coffee Time Romance telling me that they've reviewed my novel Dance Shoes, Dreams & Lattes. Check it out here and let me know what you think...

Winter Wonderland

Hi All,

I'm so excited to tell you that one of my short stories has been published on The Chick Lit Review - On The First Day Of Christmas My Parents Gave To Me! I wrote a winter wonderland themed story and they decided to invite me to publish it on their website *cut to me doing the happy dance*

Me & My Book

This is me, holding my very first book for the very first time :) Happy :)
I can't explain how I felt at the time. Fantastic springs to mind, proud, excited, nervous! So many emotions came over me. My family and friends are so proud of me. We popped the champagne of course! We'll be going out tonight to celebrate so i'll probably post a few pictures of the events of the evening, which should be quite amusing! WTS!

Thanks to everyone who bought my book and who hope to buy it. Thank you so much for your support.

Official Release Date

I can't believe i actually have a date of when my book will be officially available to buy! How exciting! It is available right now though, through my publisher's website. Dance Shoes, Dreams & Lattes will soon be available on Amazon.com, Barnes&Noble.com and you may even order it from your local bookstore.

I am aware the 'real' work is just about to start! Promoting it and marketing it! I think i'm going to need quite a few Lattes! How wonderful!

Winner! Yay!

Ok so i'm a winner - I absolutely loved this challenge. Partaking in this and completing the required word count was such an achievement for me. I came across some difficult writing hours and some hillarious joyful writing hours.

Out of this wonderful experience was born my second novel entitled - Who Slept In My Bed?

I hope that it brings as many laughs to those who read it as it did me writing it.
